​November 20-24, 2025 An unforgettable 4 day, 3 night retreat focused on connecting with the ancient history of the High Desert. We will explore the geology of the Alvord Desert and Steens Mountain, create art using natural materials, and practice mindfulness under one of the darkest night skies in the country. This retreat includes all workshops, farm to table meals, and exclusive access to the Alvord Hot Springs. Disconnect from the noise of daily life and reconnect with yourself and nature's profound beauty. This retreat at the rustic and serene Alvord Hot Springs is a unique blend of creative, contemplative, and scientific practices. We will foster community through shared experiences of art, meditation, yoga, walking meditations, rockhounding, and conversations about the amazing geology of the Alvord Desert and Steens Mountain. What to Expect A workshop at Alchemy Sky is designed to be a transformative, small group experience focused on true connection. We intentionally keep our groups small to ensure personal attention and to foster a sense of intimacy and community. Last year, November 20, 2024 the weather was sunny, high 50 and low 40. We would expect similar weather this year, but the high desert can be surprising. While the schedule is always flexible to the needs of the group and the rhythms of the land, a typical day might look like this: Morning: We will begin with a guided meditation or gentle movement to center ourselves and awaken our senses to the day. Late Morning: A geology walk and discussion on the playa or in the foothills of the Steens, exploring the history of the land and collecting unique earth materials. Afternoon: An art session where you will use your collected materials to create, allowing for creative expression and deeper integration of the day's lessons. Evening: A shared farm to table meal, sourced from our own permaculture homestead, followed by a bonfire and stargazing, a chance to witness a breathtaking night sky and reflect on our place in the universe.​ This is not your typical retreat.
